Financial company looking for someone with a strong technical background in programming and software engineering, with a specific focus on financial data manipulation and risk management solutions.

Hybrid opportunity located in the Loop Chicago, IL. This is a contract position on W2.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Server Maintenance : Maintain and service servers used by the Model Validation Group.

  2. Data Manipulation and Visualization : Design systems for manipulating and visualizing data to support model backtesting.

  3. Data Storage and Retrieval : Design, implement, and maintain methods for storing and retrieving high-volume financial data.

  4. Software Design : Apply effective application of design patterns and expertise in object-oriented design.

  5. Documentation : Create documentation for new code and test cases.

  6. Version Control : Manage GIT repositories for the model validation group.

  7. Model Testing : Implement and manage model change impact tests and stress tests.

  8. Environment Recreation: Recreate production analysis in various test environments.

Skills, Education, and Experience Required:

  • Education : Master’s degree preferred in Physics or Chemistry.

  • Experience : At least 3+ years of production-level programming experience.

  • Programming Languages : Proficiency in C# and .NET is required. Additional skills in JavaScript, SQL, IntelliJ/Eclipse (or SpringSource), R language, or Java are beneficial.

  • Technical Writing : Ability to demonstrate proficiency in technical or scientific writing.

  • Software Development Practices : Evidence of proficiency in clean code software development, particularly in developing risk management solutions.

  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

  • Financial Data Knowledge : Knowledge and experience with financial data and large financial datasets.

  • ASP.NET CORE : Experience in both front-end client-side and server-side development using ASP.NET CORE.

  • SQL Skills : Strong skills in SQL for retrieving large-scale datasets with high performance from SQL Server.

  • Technology : Experience working with .NET 8 is preferred.
